SPC 165th Anniversary MV Premiere and History Book Launch

The SPC 165th Anniversary MV Premiere and History Book Launch were successfully held on the evening of 8th November 2016 at the UA Cinema in Citiplaza, Taikooshing. The event, hosted by the St. Paul’s College Alumni Association, was graced by many distinguished dignitaries who are alumni of the College. The full capacity audience at the event also included teachers, parents, students and reporters from the media.

The evening began with the premiere of the video which was produced in honour of the 165th Anniversary of the College. The video includes tributes to their alma mater from alumni such as Mr Tsang Yuk Shing, former President of the Legislative Council, and his younger brother, Mr Tsang Tak Shing, former Secretary for Home Affairs of Hong Kong. It also features footage of the 165th Anniversary 10 km Sponsored Run, while at the same time capturing the majestic views of our old campus site at Glenealy, Central, along with images of the existing Bonham Road campus and the new Primary School Campus on Victoria Road.

The video premiere was followed by the launch of a new history book with the Chinese title, “中國·香港·聖保羅:165年的人和時代”. The book itself is, without doubt,  a collaborative effort involving SPC alumni across many generations, who voluntarily undertook the writing project as researchers, reporters, writers and editors. This 500-page book delineates a host of important figures and events in the celebrated history of St. Paul's College. Excerpts from the book were read by alumni, giving the audience a foretaste of some of the major content. The book will be officially released in December.

Promotional videos for the forthcoming 165th Anniversary celebration events were also shown at the event. Do click this link for the video premiered that evening.
