English Debate Team Emerged as First Runner-up in  Sing Tao Inter-school Debating Competition

Debate Team Emerged as First Runner-up in the 30th Sing Tao Inter-school Debating Competition 2014-2015

After coming through five heated rounds of competition, the College English Debate Team emerged as the first runner-up in the Grand Final of the 30th Sing Tao Inter-school Debating Competition.

The Grand Final of this prestigious local inter-school debate tournament was held on 15th May at Queen Elizabeth Stadium. With pithy arguments and witty rebuttals, our Debate Team, as Side Proposition, supported the motion: “Developing East Lantau into a new core business district does more good than harm”.

The College’s brotherhood spirit and solidarity were manifested robustly at the Stadium, with more than a hundred students and alumni attending as audience, along with teachers, parents and friends of St. Paul’s College.

Also in attendance supporting and applauding our Debate Team was Mr. Vincent Fung, an alumnus as well as a College Council member.

Congratulations to all the student debaters, and also to the teacher advisors, Mr. John Ng, Mr. Alex Wong and Mr. Patrick Crozier!

The debaters participating in the Grand Final were:

Stage Debaters: Woo Hoi Sang Hysan (5A), Lau Chun Shing Tristan (5E), Ho Hok Him Bryan (5A)

Other Debaters: Lam On Sang (5F), Wong Tze Yu (4E), Lo Tin Ki (4F), Sin Cheuk Him (4C), Chan Wang Lik (3B) and So Kin Wan (3E).
