Remembrance Ceremonies in Tribute to Colonel E.G. Stewart and Mr. Preston Wong and many others who lost their lives in defence of Hong Kong during the Wars

On 9 November 2024, the 10th Hong Kong Group held two remembrance ceremonies at the Stanley Military Cemetery and the College in memory of Mr. Wong Shiu Pun Preston (黃韶本) (1890-1943), former Vice-Principal of the College and Founding Group Scoutmaster of the 10th HKG, and Colonel E.G. Stewart (史伊尹) (1892-1958), former College Principal and former Group Scoutmaster of the 10th HKG.

To honour their legacy of valour and service, young scout members learned about the brave acts of Principal Colonel Stewart and Vice-Principal Mr. Preston Wong during World War II.

On 10 November 2024 (Remembrance Sunday), a memorial service organized by The Hong Kong Ex-Servicemen’s Association was held at the Cenotaph in Central. Mr. Dennis Yuen, the College Principal and Group Advisor of the 10th HKG; Mr. Elcid Chan, the Chairman of the 10th HKG; and Mr. Herbert Au-Yeung, the Group Scout Leader of the 10th HKG, laid wreaths on behalf of St. Paul’s College and the 10th HKG at the memorial to honour those who gave their lives during both World Wars.

Lest we forget.
