On November 5, 2024, our Constitution and Basic Law Student Ambassadors had the honour of participating in the Hong Kong Legal Week 2024 - Exhibition on the Achievements of the Rule of Law of our Motherland, organized by the Department of Justice.
One of the most impactful parts of the exhibition was the section dedicated to historical milestones in the national legal system's development. It showcased pivotal documents such as the Common Program of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, and the Outline for Building a Law-Based Government (2021-2025), emphasizing how these texts laid the groundwork for the modern legal system in China.
Through the guided tour, our ambassadors gained a deeper understanding of the national legal system's development, China’s efforts to advance law-based governance in the new era, and the role of Hong Kong’s common law system in building our country's rule of law.
