Forms 2 and 3 English Debate Competition Grand Final

The Grand Final of the Forms 2 & 3 English Debate Competition was held in the school hall on 3 July 2024. This year's competition featured over 15 teams and more than 20 preliminary matches.

The school hall was alive with energy as F.3A and F.2 Set 5 Team 1 debated the motion: "This house believes that schools should revoke extracurricular privileges for students with poor conduct.”

Form 3A, arguing for the proposition, emerged victorious after presenting a series of compelling arguments and strategic rebuttals. The second speaker of the Side Opposition was named the Best Debater.

The winners of the competition were:
Champions: Wong Pak Yin Jacky, Tse Shing Yau, Ho Cheuk Yip (all from 3A)
1st runners-up: Chen Kwan Wo Henery (2F), Ng Shing Hei Lincoln (2D), Yuen Lok Luc (2F)
Best Debater: Ng Shing Hei Lincoln (2D)

A lively Q&A session followed the debate, allowing Forms 2 and 3 students to explore deeper into the implications of the motion.

Special appreciation was expressed to the panel of judges, including our guest adjudicator and former Assistant Vice Principal, Mr. Alex Wong, along with two English language teachers, Miss Mohammed and Mr. John Ng. They provided insightful feedback and commendations to the debaters.

Additional thanks were extended to the teacher advisors of the English Debate Team and all committee members who served as chairpersons, timekeepers, and more, ensuring the smooth running of this educational event.
