SPC Team Wins Gold Award in Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Innovation Competition

Huge congratulations to a SPC team for winning the top prize in the prestigious Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Innovation Competition. The team members were:

Wong Kin On Christopher (4F)
Fan Siu Lung (4F) and
Yu Chun Chai (4E).

In the competition held between October 2022 and February 2023, school teams were asked to use the 3D architectural model software Sketchup to design a futuristic smart city. Our award-winning design featured a central nuclear fusion reactor, a giant solar panel outer ring, iconic districts for multiple activities, solar-powered maglev trains, an underground light speed logistics network and cultural heritage sites. The model successfully impressed the judges with its attention to detail and the pursuit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Our winning team received the Gold Award from the Financial Secretary, Mr. Paul Chan, at the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Engineers Week 2023 on 3 March 2023.
