PTA meeting on life and career planning for students

The second PTA meeting for this academic year was held in the school hall on 15th December with more than 200 parents in attendance.

The meeting opened with a welcome address by Chairlady of the College PTA, Ms C.Y. Fung, who also introduced the guest speaker, Dr Sarah Luk, Professional Consultant, Department of Educational Psychology, CUHK.

Dr Luk spoke on how parents can effectively assist their children in their life and career planning. Citing local news, her personal examples and recent research findings, Dr Luk succinctly explained the four main stages of career planning - “know, explore, plan & go”. She pointed out that structured after-school leisure activities and intervening pauses between these activities are essential for success in students’ learning and career planning.

Dr Luke’s talk was enthusiastically received with two rounds of applause from the whole audience. The PTA would like to thank Dr Luk for offering the parents very useful tips on preparing their children for their future careers.
