Staff Development Day on STEM Education
The third Staff Development Day for this academic year was held in the School Hall on 7th June 2017. The theme was “STEM Education – A New Learning Experience”.

Mr. Chu Tsz Wing, Principal of Baptist Rainbow Primary School, was invited to share his experience of implementing STEM education in his school.  During his lively presentation, Mr Chu emphasised that teachers need to believe in the power of education. He also stressed that the implementation of STEM education involves a whole-school paradigm-shifting approach with the multiple aims of developing and empowering students to be "curious inquirers, creative problem-solvers, entrepreneurial thinkers, and caring community difference makers".

The sharing session was followed by an experiential STEM activity, in which staff members worked in groups to build LEGO cars which could negotiate a steep, curved roller coaster-like track.

The day was concluded with a presentation by Mr Chan Ping Yiu, one of our IT teachers, about the latest developments of STEM education at St Paul’s College, and our students' achievements in STEM-related competitions.

In pursuit of providing the best possible learning environment and teaching for our students, the staff development day is conducted several times over the academic year as an ongoing professional development programme for all teaching staff at St. Paul's College.
