Douglas Tam: Third-place winner in HKFYG Standard Chartered Public Speaking Contest
Tam Tsz Lok Douglas (4D) emerged as the 2nd runner-up in the Senior Division at the Grand Final of the Hong Kong Standard Chartered Public Speaking Contest 2017.

This annual contest, organised by the Hongkong Federation of Youth Groups since 2004, has been recognised as one of the most rigorous public speaking contests at local secondary school level. This year, the Senior Division alone drew an enrolment of more than 1000 students from both mainstream and international schools across the territory.

After two heated elimination rounds, Douglas, together with four other contestants, advanced to the Grand Final on 8th April 2017.

Douglas' speech, entitled "Online Shopping: the Renaissance of Creativity", won accolades from the judges. His confident style of presentation ultimately placed him among the top three winners in the Grand Final.

The awards ceremony, which took place immediately after the contest, was graced by the presence of the guest of honour, the Hon Rimsky Yuen SC, Secretary for Justice of the HKSAR.

The College is very proud of Douglas, and we congratulate him on his outstanding achievement!
